How do I know if a stairlift is right for me?

You can fill out the contact us form and an accessibility specialist will contact you to answer your specific questions.

How much should I expect to pay for a stairlift?

Straight stair lifts range in price from $2,700 to $4,400 installed. Custom Curved chair lifts start at $6,500 installed and can go up depending on options, stairway configuration and total length.

What is the warranty on a stairlift?

Bruno offers 2 years on parts, 5 years on the motor and drive train. Milwaukee Stair Lifts offers a 1-year labor warranty on all installations and we extend the Bruno powertrain warranty to a lifetime warranty when purchased and installed through us.

How do I know which stair lift I should get for my home?

This depends on your particular health conditions and your stair configuration. Our customer questionnaire can help as well as a home consultation.

Can I install a stairlift myself?

While stair lifts are not too difficult to install, a poorly installed stair lift can cause safety concerns. The price of a factory installation is less than 8% of the total purchase price and will provide you with the comfort of knowing it is covered by our 1-year labor warranty and safe to use.

What are the maintenance requirements for a lift?

A stair lift should be checked once a year for battery wear, proper charging input, safety device operations and minor lubrication.

Who do I call if I have a concern with my stairlift?

Contact us and we will take care of your lift. We strive to make lift ownership easy for you and will always be there to help you.

What are the electrical requirements for a lift?

Because all of our units are battery-operated, your new stair chair will only require a 110v standard wall outlet. This outlet charges the battery, drawing minimal power. The outlet can be up to 15 feet away from the top or bottom of the staircase.

Is this a permanent fixture?

Not at all. Stairlifts can be easily removed if you are selling your home or moving. In most cases, they come out in less than an hour and you cannot tell it was ever there.

Do I have to modify my staircase to accept a stair lift?

Stairlifts are installed into the stair treads and not into the walls. Supports are anchored on every 3rd tread which allows for minimal impact on your staircase. It only uses a standard wall outlet so there is no need for any renovation to accept a stairlift.

Can I use this myself?

Yes. Stairlifts are designed to be safely used by one person.

What happens if there is a power outage?

All of our systems operate on batteries so your lift will take you up and down during power outages.

What is the weight limit for a chairlift?

Chair lifts have weight ranges of 275 lbs to 400 lbs depending on the model. A home consultation will assist with choosing the right stair lift for you.

I have pets, is there anything I should be concerned about regarding their safety?

All of our Stairlifts have safety panels on the sides and bottom of the chair to prevent any obstruction, including pets, from interfering with the operation of your lift. Bruno “hides” their gear tracks under the curves of the rail assemblies to prevent a loved one from getting hurt while walking the steps.

I suffer from Vertigo; Do I have to be concerned while on a stairlift?

Possibly. A home consultation is required if you suffer from Vertigo. Additionally, it would be wise to test-ride a lift prior to purchasing to ensure that you do not have dizzy spells when going on and off the seat. There is no concern with Vertigo while riding due to Bruno’s unique anti-tilt structure.
